Once you type Ultius.com in your browser's URL bar and hit Enter, you see a beautiful website. The design looks very fancy and modern, it leaves you with no other reaction but “Wow!” However, when it comes to actually finding something that you are looking for, it becomes a little bit complicated because of all the distractions, but by no means impossible.
They claim to offer high-quality custom writing services by cooperating with exclusively American writers. We have not found any references to services other than custom writing-related, so it leaves us assuming that there aren't any.
SERVICES OFFEREDIf you scroll down to the bottom of the home page, you can find the general list of the provided services. They include business writing, dissertations, essays, research papers, theses, - writing and editing. More detailed information on the provided services can be found on the separate page of the website.
Ultius's services can be divided into three basic categories: academic writing, business writing, and editing. Academic writing includes book critique, courseworks, grant proposals, movie reviews, research papers, term papers, etc.
Some other kinds of writings that a student or another client might need they don't have. Ultius will not write articles, admission essays, business plans, case studies, multiple choice tests, etc. for you.
PRICING AND SPECIAL OFFERSThe website is clear about the prices for all the services. They will range between $18 and $80. It is more expensive (slightly) than the average prices on the market, but, in our opinion, still quite affordable. Among other things, the cost of your order will depend on the quality level that you choose. There are four quality options available: high school, undergraduate, Doctoral, and Masters.
There is a place to input a discount code, but that you have to google yourself. However, you can never be certain that the discount code that you have found is real and up-to-date, it might not work. Surprisingly, there are no special offers for first-time users.
WRITING QUALITYTo test the quality of Ultius's writings, we have decided to order a small two-page essay. We have chosen undergraduate level and set the deadline of 20 days. The calculated price was $42.
The essay was delivered on time, and it was evidently written by an inspired author. The ideas were creative, and the narration was smooth and easy to follow. Yet, the style was somewhat disappointing. It seemed too simple – it would be quite good for high school, but less so for undergraduate level.
However, we were pleased to see that all the smallest format requirements of the APA style were met, and the bibliography was done properly.
CUSTOMER SUPPORTUltius has a very friendly support which is available via two channel:
- live chat. Normally, this is the simplest form to inquire about the progress of your order. Not here though. Before you are connected with a customer support agent, you need to provide some of the personal details: your name, your email address, and your reason for contacting the support.
- phone number. There is a phone number to call, which such services often don't have. So, we tried to call Ultius to inquire about the progress of our essay. They answered promptly, but unfortunately, the agent was unable to update us regarding our order.
We also tried to get in touch directly with the writer, but the agent politely told us that this was impossible, because they do not provide such an option.
We cannot say that Ultius's customer support service is bad, but with their prices, it is reasonable to expect better quality. CONCLUSIONWe have discussed the disadvantages of working with Ultius. The main ones being the prices somewhat above average and the impossibility to track the progress of your order after you've placed it. Other than that, the support is quite friendly and efficient, and the writing quality is also not bad at all (even though you might consider choosing a higher level when forming your order).
Another thing is that with Ultius.com you may be sure that your essay will be written by an american essay writer. We do not support any prejudice, but we see how important it can be for some students – that their essay was written by a native English speaker, and not outsourced to someone to whom English is a foreign language.
