Although cats and dogs differ from one another, they share someessential characteristics. Some of the main characteristics includephysical appearance, verbal and physical tones, and mental capacity.With various types of cats and dogs, there are major differences inanimal presentation. The major differences between the two, forinstance, cats have snake-like eyes, soft fur, and pink noses. Whereas,Dogs have courser fur, human-like eyes, and black noses. When it comesto facial differences cats have a flatter mouth and nose area, like ahuman however, a dog's mouth and nose area stick out farther. Cats'teeth normally have less plaque buildup then dogs. Dogs tongues, onaverage, larger than cats. Also, their noses can either be wet or dry,depending on the individual. Bodily, cats for the most part contain asmaller frame size however, dogs tend to have a larger frame. Withthat, cats have smaller paws, when dogs have larger paws. Both of theirfur lengths varies on the same length, except the way it feels. Catsfur tends to feel soft and silky, whereas a dogs fur feels coarse andcrunchy. When it comes to their ears and tails, they both mainly havepointy ears and long tails.Although animals make many different sounds, cats meow and dogs bark. With cats, they have higher verbal tones, such as meowing, purring. Dogs can only bark and their verbal sounds obtain a lower pitched tones. Both animals growl when feeling threatened or wanting to threaten. Cats hiss either before or after a growl, but mostly heard after agrowl. When agitated or annoyed, cats tend to squint their eyes andslap their tail harshly. Also, when angered or threatened, they standtaller, arch their back, growl and hiss. All in this doing, their skintightens, causing their hair follicles to stand strait up instead offlat, making them look even bigger than normal.
