Topic In order to boost the profit growths of hotels, which one amongst these changes should the hoteliers put into application first and foremost?It is undeniable that technology is playing an essential role in people s daily lives. This has raised awareness among hoteliers in the hospitality industry about the way they conduct their businesses to meet the technology demand of customers. Beside offering high-tech services to meet customers needs, there are several reasons that encourage hoteliers to take advantage of technology such as multi-generational traveling, upgrading the old-fashioned service and management systems, social media marketing and reputation managing in order to generate more revenues. Firstly, hoteliers need to address the new trend of customer groups in the industry, which is not limited to only young travelers but also aging customers. Each type of guests has their own specific requirements that the hotels need to approach differently. For the young, hotels need to offer dynamic services regarding technology while the elderly demand hoteliers to furnish appropriate facilities to meet their special needs. With the accessibility that technology brings, hoteliers can easily be adaptable to the new trend and enhance the guest experiences. For example, at Starwood hotel, guests do not need to use metallic keys to enter their rooms, they just need to use smart room keys which allow customers to unlock doors by swiping their phones across a keyless pad on the door. This will prevent the guests from losing their keys and improve the security level of the hotel. As the hotels attract various groups of the customer with their new technologies, it will bring more money and help to increase revenues.Secondly, the service management systems have been developed rapidly into a sophisticated and well-integrated tool for hoteliers to deal with the enormous data and information.
