With the prospect of Global Warming, many Canadians are worried about their future. The vast majority of people are sceptical about changing their lifestyles just to lower CO2 levels. Many others think if it is worth changing our life, or what is the point, scientists have another view about this. The Kyoto Accord established legally binding targets for those industrialized countries that ratify the agreement and the timeframes within which these targets are to be met.(Climate Change Plan for Canada). Global Warming is the term that scientists use to explain the unnatural heating of the earth caused by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are the increased levels of CO2 caused by the unnecessary burning of fossil fuels. Automobiles are one of the leading sources adding to Greenhouse Gases. The remanding Greenhouse Gases are hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs), per fluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SFs).(Climate Change Plan for Canada). Canada ratified the protocol in 1997 and promised to bring down CO2 production by 6. With oil plentiful and cheap, interest in alternative - energy sources - hydropower, solar energy, wind turbines, geothermal energy, among others - rapidly waned.(Griffen). Alternative energy sources are seen as the only way to end Global Warming because energy from the sun, wind, and water are renewable sources that do not pollute the environment. Ultimately, the hope for tackling the greenhouse effect - as well as going energy independence - lies in the development of non-fossil energy sources to a point where they are cheaper and easier to use then their fossil rivals (Griffan). If Canada lowers its emission than will, we really see the benefits. In 1997, the Kyoto Accord was established by the United Nations in Kyoto Japan. This accord, if signed, tells the country to lower CO2 emissions, which will lower greenhouse gases globally. If following the accord laws then it will put an end to emissions. Canada ratified the agreement, and promised to reduce carbon dioxide levels by 6 from...

The Greenhouse Effect is described as the heat trapping mechanism that radiates from gasses across the Earths atmosphere. Without the Earths surface being heated up by this phenomena, it would be a cold place to live (National Research Council, 2010). While it is essential, the concern is that anthropogenic causes ...
